Czech Republic excludes Rosatom from nuclear power plant tender
PRAGUE, Apr 19 (PRIME) -- Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom will be excluded from the participants of a tender for construction of the Dukovany nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic, the country’s Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlicek said in an interview with Pravo newspaper, released on Monday.
“I cannot imagine that after the latest events Rosatom can be proposed to participate in the security check. There is nothing to check. The company will be excluded from the tender in the next few days. We also rule out that the other participants can invite Rosatom as a subcontractor,” he said.
The Czech Republic expelled 18 Russian diplomats earlier in April. Czech local intelligence agents say the diplomats are Russian intelligence operatives. They are suspected of involvement in an explosion at an arms depot in 2014, which killed two people.
